There’s still time to sneak in a getaway trip before the holidays are over! Head to these picturesque locations not far out of Perth for a quick daytrip. Don’t forget to bring along a book for the journey!

Mandurah lies only an hour to the south of Perth and is home to some fantastic beaches. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from located along the beautiful estuary foreshore and Mandurah Boardwalk. Whilst relaxing in Mandurah’s calming atmosphere make sure to grab a copy of A.K Bedford’s novel Black Light, a mysterious, thrilling story about a widowed novelist racing to defy a dangerous threat to her life.

Lying an hour to the north of Perth, Two Rocks is a quaint little suburb home to the now abandoned Atlantis Marine Park featuring the well-known King Neptune Statue. Bring along a copy of Sarah Foster’s novel Shallow Breath; a mysterious, fast-paced read that deals with family, love and what it really means to be free.

Catch the ferry over to Rottnest Island one last time these holidays. See the beautiful landscapes of Rottnest by biking your way around the island or traversing the numerous hiking trails available. Another world lies beneath the surface as well so make sure to bring your bathers and snorkel to get the most out of your journey. Whilst tanning on the beautiful beaches make sure to bring a copy of Kingdom of the Quokka by Leighten DeBarros where you’ll learn more about the history of the island and its cute furry inhabitants.

Make the most of your holidays by sneaking away one last time!
